Foodie Corner
I love autumn because it invites me to slow down, look inward, and reconnect with myself. And the kitchen becomes my sacred space, where I transform ingredients into care, into medicine, and into love. It’s during this season that I draw the most inspiration from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which reminds us that every food has an energy, an effect, an intention.
This month, I want to share recipes and knowledge to nourish your body with warmth—to comfort and strengthen you from within, just like a good soup on a chilly afternoon.
Tolerance Without Limits
In a world that’s growing louder and more divided, it’s easy to confuse tolerance with indifference, or freedom with passivity. But allow me to say that true tolerance is not about staying silent in the face of injustice — it’s about standing firm for the kind of world where everyone has the right to exist, to speak, and to be heard without fear.
Losing Faith in society
I grew up believing in the importance of words, in the power of ideas, in the beauty of emotional depth, and in the value of critical thinking. Yet today, I find myself living in a society where appearances often shine brighter than essence, where image holds more value than truth, and where noise drowns out reflection. We are disconnected from our true selves — unaware of this disconnection and lost within ourselves.
When you live for everyone… except yourself
From early childhood, many women have been taught to be useful, available, and good for others — not defined by what they feel or dream, but by what they do. Over time, this becomes their identity. And there hasn’t been much choice, because choosing otherwise often feels (or is labelled) selfish.
Behind the Rainbow
I watched the film Judy, dedicated to Judy Garland. Something shifted inside me. I felt a deep sadness as I discovered what we’re not shown: the brutal price a little girl paid to embody a collective dream. A girl stripped of her childhood, her rest, her freedom… just to give us a magical movie.
Why are we so disconnected?
A few weeks ago, we had a total blackout here in Spain. No electricity. No internet. And no clue what was going on. Everything just… stopped.
At first, it felt strange – uncomfortable, even. But then, something shifted. In that unexpected pause, something became very clear: how disconnected we’ve become – not just from technology, but from ourselves, from others, and from the present moment.
Exploring our self infused edges in yoga
As you know, my practice has shifted towards Functional Yoga, a less rigid approach that focuses more on how you feelrather than how it looks. Instead of trying to fit my body into a perfect shape, I explore movement that supports my unique bones, joints, and structure.
Recently, I revisited the book Your Body, Your Yoga, in which Bernie Clark discusses how our unique anatomy influences our experience in postures. But he also prompted me to reflect on something much deeper: our practice is shaped not just by bones and muscles, but by our emotions, our minds, and our ego.
Jaw and Pelvic Floor: The Connection That Changed How I Feel My Body
For years, I thought the tension in my jaw was just stress or poor posture at the computer. What I didn’t realise was that the tightness I felt from clenching my teeth was closely connected to another part of my body that also stored a lot of tension: the pelvic floor. Yes, that part we rarely talk about, but which literally holds much of our vital energy.
The Art of Doing Nothing - Lessons from Shoji Morimoto
Today I watched a YouTube video about Shoji Morimoto, a man in Japan whose job is, quite literally, to “do nothing.” People hire him simply to be there—no advice, no labor, no performance. Just presence.
Yoga Props: Your Secret Power
Yoga props are tools that help us modify, deepen, or access poses in a way that supports our body’s needs. There are many available, including blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters, zafus, pillows, yoga wheels, and even chairs.
Foodie Corner
My love for food is well known among those who know me, and I just realised that I haven’t shared a blog post about my favourite recipes in a while. So tonight, feeling inspired, I’m excited to bring you more of my favourite dishes.
In my last food-related post, I confessed my addiction to weekly markets and my love for buying seasonal greens. At home, we never eat pre-cooked meals or anything that comes in a package—I always choose fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The Four Agreements: a book review.
I love reviewing books and, more importantly, reflecting on how they have impacted my life. This book has, so far, been an incredible way to see my life through the lens of these agreements.
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is a self-help book based on ancient Toltec wisdom. It offers four simple yet profound principles to help people break free from self-limiting beliefs and live a life of personal freedom, happiness, and love.
From People-Pleasing to Inner Peace: The Menopause Shift.
At first, it was unsettling. I did not know what was going on, even though I knew something had changed. The hot flushes, the mood swings, the changes in my body that I couldn’t control. One night, I even ended up at the hospital in the emergency room, thinking I was having a heart attack.
The Journey to Stillness in Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is much more than a series of postures; it is a journey inward—an invitation to stillness and introspection. Many people call it “the meditative yoga” or “the yoga of stillness.”
5 Senses - Sight
The sense of sight is fundamental to how we perceive the world and our own bodies. It allows us to observe our movements, interpret environmental cues, and establish a visual connection with other practitioners and the instructor. In yoga, sight can guide and inspire us, leading us into a state of mindfulness while also fostering curiosity.
Healing Collective Trauma through Yoga: a book review.
Last month I read the book Healing Collective trauma, and in this blog I want to explore collective trauma through this book. The concept of collective trauma, as explored by Thomas Hübl in his book, invites us to recognise and heal the wounds we have inherited as a society, especially those that relate to oppression, violence, and dehumanisation.
5 Senses - Touch
I was excited to share this perspective because, when I started practicing yoga, I never expected how profoundly touch would play a role in the experience. You might wonder what touch has to do with yoga, but yoga is all about relationships—first, the one we cultivate with ourselves, and then the connections we build with others.
Fear, on and off the Yoga mat.
Fear is a theme that has come up repeatedly in my life, and for a long time, I’ve wanted to explore its many facets. As a universal and profound experience, fear has been studied and contemplated across philosophical and spiritual traditions. In this post, I’d like to delve deeper into the nature of fear and how we can engage with it both on and off the yoga mat.
5 Senses - Taste
The journey of yoga is about connecting with our body and mind, often through breath, postures, and meditation. But have you ever considered how taste can enhance your yoga experience? Today, we’ll explore how mindful eating can be a powerful addition, deepening your connection to the present moment.
Breath
Over the past three years, I’ve rekindled my love for reading. I’d forgotten how much I missed it until I started again—there’s something so calming about settling into my favourite corner with a book in hand, sipping tea or coffee as I turn each page.
Recently, though, I discovered audiobooks. I had always avoided them because I loved the ritual of holding a physical book. But with a 50-minute commute each day, my husband suggested I try Audible, an app where you can download and listen to books.
